Back in 2012, I was already cheerfully making my way through the balloon industry with our company the Balloon and Event Construction Company! Life was good, the balloons were larger than life and yet, I felt something tugging on me.
Was it on my brain… telling me of something I should do?
Or was it on my heart… showing me something I WOULD LOVE TO DO?
No matter what it was, I followed my head and my heart and secured the domain: www.iheartballoons.com, putting the beginning steps together for my newest passion project.
Later that year, still with the domain tucked securely in my pocket, I signed up for an Amber Housely workshop for creatives in good ol’ Nashville, TN, called The Inspired Retreat. Of course in my 17-year career, I have been to many a workshop, course, seminar, conference… you name it and I’ve been there.
But this one was different. The beauty of a workshop for creatives was being able to meet, mingle, talk and learn from people with artistic minds like myself, but from all industries- not just balloons. I met several bloggers, such as Courtney Dial Whitmore with the Pizzazzerie who I still LOVE to follow and many others, with wildly imaginative and intriguing businesses, listening to them speak about each of their own passions, ultimately fueling the fire to continue with mine.
Over the course of the next few years, I continued to dream and envision the direction for I Heart Balloons. While I wasn’t able to dive headfirst into it, I did plan and prepare for when I was ready.
Finally, in 2016 after I had successfully grown my first balloon business to a place of consistency and quality, thanks to an amazing team of passionate and hard working staff members, I knew I would finally be able to focus on I Heart Balloons, once and for all.
So why do “I Heart Balloons” so very much? Well, for starters, they are simply m.a.g.i.c.a.l! Everything from the bright colors, creative designs and joy it brings to younger children and adults alike, is transformative.
With balloon art, you can transform a run-of-the-mill celebration into an eye-opening and whimsical event, with simply a vision and hefty tank of helium by your side.
And in a life so full of serious To Do’s, timelines and decisions to be made, aren’t some things just better left airy and light?
I certainly think so.
The mission of I Heart Balloons is to have a one-stop shop of information, design know-how and resources for the DIY novice or a balloon professional yearning to learn more!
From water balloons and simple balloon designs for your child’s next pool party to an elegant balloon drop at your next corporate gala, this platform will be the place for all things fantastically balloon!
Some amazing features planned for the site will be:
- An iSpy blog section for readers and customers that “spy” festive balloon structures and arrangements on TV, at a parade or in a storefront window, for example. By submitting a photo of the balloons, our team will get to work figuring out who the artist is behind the balloon design!
- We will have an online shop for the DIY go-getters and downloads for the professionals.
- And finally, one of my favorite features will be an upcoming podcast, where we will interview balloon artists from around the world to share stories, experiences, information and so much more!
Lastly, I want I Heart Balloons to truly be the go-to destination for resources and education. For that reason, the site will serve as a hub for:
- Information from manufacturers and wholesalers
- Links to DVDs that are beneficial and educational
- Balloon conventions around the world
- Dates, times and links to various conventions, workshops and classes
- And ultimately, a place to simply learn more about balloon decorating
I know how enchanting balloons can be, and I hope you are beginning to feel some whimsy, as well! With the completion of iHeartBalloons.com I know that aficionados, professionals and enthusiasts will have a platform geared to an art they truly love. Whether you are a born creative or have only recently fallen in love with balloon designs, we welcome you all with open arms- and a beautifully, inflated heart!
